Management

Grant McKenzie - managing director

Growing up in Queensland, Grant's passion for carpentry began at the tender age of 13, when he started working with local builders and plumbers. Grant completed his building apprenticeship in 1984. He moved to Melbourne two years later, where he worked on domestic renovations, before starting his first building company Craftwork Renovations, which was sold as a profitable business in 1989. In 1991 Grant started another business called Old Classic Renovations - known today as Zotima.

Much of Zotima's success can be attributed to Grant's strident philosophy of putting quality before profit - avoiding short cuts, and maintaining the highest levels of service, construction and finish on every project. At any given time, Grant controls up to a dozen projects, managing every stage of every project - from the client's initial vision, right through to completion - enabling him to retain complete quality control over each job.

A genuine "people person", Grant has attracted a like-minded team of loyal and talented employees, who are dedicated to the Zotima vision of providing quality work in an atmosphere of professionalism, honesty and integrity.

"Zotima showed an outstanding understanding of how various materials could be manipulated to achieve both cost savings as well as improved design efficiency."
